Founded by Kanniks Kannikeswaran, Shanti Academy was born from his lifelong passion for Indian music and intensive study of India’s rich history and traditions. The Academy strives to share knowledge, rooted in the ideal of shanti or universal peace, which at its core is recognizing the interconnectedness of us all, or more simply, the oneness of existence. This is carried out through powerfully captivating, deeply touching, and creatively stunning multimedia productions.

As Shanti Academy’s artistic director, it’s Kanniks’ heart-led desire to shine a light on relevant, important topics that impact humanity, our earth and natural resources, and our way of life by taking viewers on a fascinating, engaging journey. Exquisite artistry and compelling storytelling transcend cultural, language and geographic barriers and serve to unite an otherwise diverse and vast world.

His work is led by the messages of the Upanishads and draws on the timeless wisdom, beloved customs, and celebrated rituals of those who came before us, imparting knowledge, information and inspiration for us all to live a more aware, healthy, balanced and fulfilled life.
